THE ASK
The UGA satellite campus in Griffin, GA features no permanent housing as its student population is 100% commuter-based. This situation presented a bit challenge when the Office of Student Affairs recruited me to produce a video with the aim of “increasing the sense of an active, thriving, and exciting student life on the UGA Griffin campus.” How could I fulfill this ask when the vast majority of students—many of them enrolled part-time and juggling the demands of work, family, and school—were only on campus when they needed to be in the classroom?
THE EXECUTION
Ultimately, I decided that a testimonial-style format featuring actual students would lend a feeling of community and camaraderie. I also focused on the campus’s amenities and research activity to emphasize UGA Griffin’s distinctive academic environment.
